January is School Board Recognition Month and Quitman ISD is celebrating its trustees for their dedication and commitment to the district and its students. Trustees will receive special recognition at the monthly school board meeting on Monday, January 9th, at 6 p.m.
The theme of this year’s School Board Recognition Month is Forward, Together, which highlights the collaboration among school leadership, teachers, and parents on behalf of students.
Yesterday's professional development day for teachers and staff members started off with a bang with a morning visit from the folks at "Travelin' Tom's Coffee" truck. Thank you to the administrators, who worked with the great folks at "Travelin' Tom's Coffee" for supplying a great treat to employees at all campuses! The owners of "Travelin' Tom's Coffee" also own the "Kona Ice" trucks that visit our campuses several times throughout the year. Their tasty treats are always appreciated!

On Wednesday, December 21st, The East Texas Mobile Food Bank will be on-site in the parking lot at Bud Moody Stadium to distribute supplies while they last. They will start at 10 a.m. and end at noon (or until they run out). No eligibility requirements, paperwork or ID required.
Quitman ISD will be observing an early release day this Friday, 12/16. Elementary students will be released at 1 p.m., and Junior High and High School students will be released at 1:15 p.m. Students will be on break from then until January 5th, 2023. We wish everyone a safe, happy holiday!

NOTICE OF THE QUITMAN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT’S SAFETY AND SECURITY COMMITTEE PUBLIC MEETING Quitman ISD will hold a public meeting at 5:30 p.m., November 28 at the QISD Board Room located at 600 n Winnsboro, Quitman TX, 75783 The purpose of the meeting is to review and discuss District Safety and Security.
QHS's Theatre program will proudly present "Bulldogs on Broadway" tonight at 7 p.m. This Broadway Revue features popular songs from many well known musicals. The price of entry is donations only.

Today, Friday November 4th, there is a possibility of severe weather. QISD is monitoring the weather closely and will be monitoring road conditions as rain and storms move into the area. Currently, the risk of severe weather is highest after school releases this afternoon.
