It is always exciting when you can deliver great news to an employee. QISD was the recipient of a Grow Your Own Grant this year. One aspect of the grant was to fund tuition cost for a current para professional that would be completing their teaching degree in the next two years! Today Bethany Fatheree was the recipient of that "up to" $10,000 award. We are proud of Mrs. Fatheree!
MORE SCIENCE pictures. Students loved the learning!
THIRD GRADE SCIENCE DAY was Tuesday hosted by the Master Gardeners. Students learned important information about plants and water collection and seeds. A BIG thank you to all the volunteers who made this day so spectacular!

March of the Blue! Great kids!
March of the Blue!
REMEMBER that next week will be STAAR testing on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday so the campus will be closed for lunch. No one can eat with students because some students may be testing during that time. We will be open again to parents and grandparents for lunch on Thursday.
March of the Blue will take place as planned tomorrow for K students and senior graduates. The “March” will begin at 8:30 on the elementary campus and continue to secondary campus. All are welcome!
Quitman ISD will not have classes Thursday, May 9 due to concern about flooding and continued rain. See Superintendent Turner’s post on the district App and Facebook.
Parents please be patient as we try to get your children home to you. Our buses are on their routes and going slow. We are also making sure there is a parent or an adult home before we leave the students.
Due to flooding QISD will be releasing students early. Parents may begin to pick their students up immediately. Buses will be boarding at approximately 1:30. If there is no parent or guardian at the house the students will be brought back to their home campus. If the bus can not safely get to your house your child will be brought back to their home campus. Parents that normally pick up their children need to pick them up at their normal pick up area.
DESTINATION AMERICA! Performed by the QES Choir Tuesday night won parents hearts! The choir is under the direction of Mrs. Katrina Morrow, Music teacher.
Mrs. Jenny Howle, QES Art Teacher, meets with students on Fab Friday. This year students studied Monet, Picasso, and VanGogh along with other artists.
A FINE NIGHT FOR THE FINE ARTS at Quitman Elementary School drew a crowd of parents and students showing off their artistic talents. The show is on this week at the school through Thursday.
