UNITED WE STAND was the Fifth Grade musical performance at Quitman Elementary Tuesday night. The musical was under the direction of Mrs. Katrina Morrow, music teacher.
TRUMAN came to visit PreK Tuesday at QES. They are studying pets and the care of animals. Truman is a Golden Retriever that lives at the Cameron’s house.

Quitman Elementary is looking for mentors who are willing to volunteer their time to help students.
If you are interested in coming to the elementary campus one day a week for an hour to work one-on-one with a student who is having difficulty with academics or in need of extra attention, please contact June Sims at Quitman Elementary School. All mentors must have a background check before working with students.

FLASHLIGHT FRIDAY was fun for building reading endurance today in Mrs. Kennemer’s classroom. Students did sustained reading for twenty minutes! 7 minutes longer than their record! Great!

QES LUNCH AND LEARN today for staff members was Behavior Tips for the Classroom by Lance Morrow, Assistant Principal. Three sessions during each lunch period brought a crowd.
QES fifth graders presented THE MORNING MEETING at the Monday Night board meeting. The Morning Meeting is a part of the Social Emotional Learning that is emphasized this year. Building relationships and creating a safe space is a priority for the campus.
