UTHealth Air One helicopter will be landing in the grassy area in front of the school tomorrow at around 9:00 AM. This is prearranged as part of an FCCLA guest speaker program for the high school, and is NOT an emergency. We wanted parents and students to be aware so we can limit confusion.
Our Top Dog Class Competition is heating up again:
6th grade is in the lead with 551 points, 8th grade is in a close second with 545, and 7th grade is trailing with 522. We will be giving points for the canned food drive, Fall Dance participation, and points for those making the honor roll for the first nine weeks. Keep SHINING QJH!!

Since the JH Football game was moved to a bye week for October 17th, we will move PINK OUT Day to October 24th. There will be no spirit day on October 17th since there is not a football game.

Drum Line & Percussion T-Shirt Sales Extended
Drum line t-shirt order form. This is a fundraiser to help the high school drum line raise money for their Colorado trip at the end of the year. Anyone can buy a drum line shirt and a portion of the proceeds will go to the kids. Please contact Mr. Robert Cheek with any questions.

Service Project ideas:
Coats for Kids - Collect coats to donate to Christmas Sharing or somewhere such as this
Ronald McDonald House - Collect Soda Pop tabs and donate them to the Ronald McDonald House, helps pay for families' stays while a child is in the hospital
Turkey Teacher Competition - Collect canned goods or money under their "favorite/not favorite" teacher for the week or 2 weeks. The winning teacher wears a turkey hat or carries a stuffed turkey around for a day. Food/money donated to the local food bank - cute idea!
School pictures are being made tomorrow morning. (9/26/19) Please dress for your pictures then you can change for your BLUE OUT Spirit Day attire. Everyone should have their pictures taken even if you don’t plan to buy pictures. These will be used for the yearbook.
9-26 7th Grade game in Arp will start at 5:00. 8th grade game will follow.

The Junior High Art classes have been busy creating a forest using different shades of color to create landscape and wildlife.
JH Social Studies classes learning about the Constitution today! Thank you to Coach Hamrick for organizing this assembly, and for the Republican Women of Wood County for their presentation!

Homecoming Week - JH kids will be released at 12:45 on Friday, September 27th, 2019. If your child is riding the bus with another student, please send a signed written note (from both parents) anytime between today and FRIDAY morning by 8:00 am. Phone calls/emails will not be accepted.
