Week at a Glance for the week of October 21st 🐾
At approximately 2:45 PM on October 18th, teachers and students heard what was believed to be gunshots. In an abundance of caution, all staff and students were immediately directed to return to the building, and a secure lockdown was initiated. The Quitman Police Department was promptly notified and responded swiftly.
After a thorough investigation, Quitman PD confirmed that the gunshots were not in close proximity to any school facility. As a result, the campuses have been taken off the secure lockdown.
There was no immediate threat to the school. We want to extend our gratitude to our staff, students, and law enforcement for their calm and proactive response in ensuring everyone's safety.
