Quitman Elementary School was recently recognized as a “Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School.” Quitman ISD has a Capturing Kids’ Hearts District since 2021. Per the Capturing Kids’ Hearts website (https://www.capturingkidshearts.org/), their program focuses on equipping K-12 educational professionals to “implement transformational processes focused on social-emotional wellbeing, relationship-driven campus culture, and student connectedness.”
The Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools® Award is both a high aspiration and an exemplary recognition of excellence. Capturing Kids’ Hearts® is proud to recognize the outstanding educators who have dedicated themselves to making a difference in the lives of our children.
Quitman Elementary School was one of only 468 school campuses nationwide to receive this prestigious recognition. The Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools® Award recognizes and celebrates schools producing exemplary outcomes using the Capturing Kids’ Hearts® Process. Award winners demonstrate a high level of performance and a positive culture and climate for learning.
“QISD is incredibly proud of the elementary campus' success with CKH,” stated Ms. Dana Hamrick, QISD Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. “We believe we have some of the best teachers and campus administrators in the state, and it's an honor to have them be recognized for this accomplishment. When you walk onto the elementary campus, you can feel the love and support that they have for each other, adults and students alike; they truly are a family in every sense of the word.”
The Capturing Kids’ Hearts® Process equips educators with the skills they need to change the trajectory of students’ lives. Campuses implementing the Capturing Kids’ Hearts® Process consistently report improvements in academic, behavioral, and cultural outcomes.
