On Wednesday, December 21st, The East Texas Mobile Food Bank will be on-site in the parking lot at Bud Moody Stadium to distribute supplies while they last. They will start at 10 a.m. and end at noon (or until they run out). No eligibility requirements, paperwork or ID required.

Quitman ISD will be observing an early release day this Friday, 12/16. Elementary students will be released at 1 p.m., and Junior High and High School students will be released at 1:15 p.m. Students will be on break from then until January 5th, 2023. We wish everyone a safe, happy holiday!

Congratulations to Senior Alan De Gorostiza! Last Friday, Alan earn 4th chair in Region 4's Honor Band. This ranking is high enough to qualify for advancement to Area. At Area, he'll audition for the State Band on January 7th.
Congratulations to Tristan Wood (Clarinet), Jill Reid (Clarinet), and Alan De Gorostiza (Alto Saxophone) on being selected to the 4-States Honor Band.
Assistant Superintendent Chris Mason and Director of Finance Kari Wilson acted as Santa's Elves on Friday, handing out hams to QISD employees. Employees also received a retention stipend on Friday. This stipend was approved by the Board of Trustees and is given every August and December.
Congratulations to Layne Mclemore and Ross Gonyea for earning spots in the Regional Honor Band. The 8th graders competed last Friday at Union Grove. Mclemore placed 4th in percussion and Gonyea placed 21st at clarinet. Way to go!

QHS's Theatre program will proudly present "Bulldogs on Broadway" tonight at 7 p.m. This Broadway Revue features popular songs from many well known musicals. The price of entry is donations only.

Quitman ISD will release early on Friday, 11/18, at 1 p.m. to kick off the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Thanksgiving Break will be observed from Monday, 11/21, through Friday, 11/25. Students will return to classes on Monday, November 28th. Have a safe and happy holiday!
