It's almost time for Quitman Bulldog Basketball Camp! All registrations and money will be taken at the door the day of camp. Please contact Coach Hamrick or Coach Wilson at their email addresses on the flyer if you have questions.

Quitman ISD will be releasing students early on Thursday afternoon, May 25th. Elementary students will be released at 1 p.m. Junior High and High School students will be released at 1:15 p.m. Friday will be a development day for faculty and staff.
We will see our students back on Tuesday, August 15th. Have a safe, fun summer!

PUBLIC NOTICE:
Quitman ISD's Safety and Security Committee will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m., May 17th, 2023, in the QISD Administration Boardroom. The purpose of the meeting is to review and discuss safety and security measures at QISD.
Quitman ISD would like to honor Ms. Jane Herring for serving 21 years as a Trustee on the Quitman Independent School District School Board. Ms. Herring's many years of service are testimony to her dedication to our district. Ms. Herring's passion for excellence has been instrumental in helping our district reach our goals over the years. Thank you, Ms. Herring!

PLAYOFF CHANGE! Lady Bulldog Softball team will play Hooks for Bi-District Playoffs Saturday April 29th at 10:00am at the Winnsboro ISD softball fields for a 1 game series for Bi-District Playoffs. Admission is $5.00 for Adults, $3.00 for students, and all passes accepted. ALL TICKETS WILL BE ONLINE @ WINNSBORO ISD'S WEBSITE.
SAFETY & SECURITY NOTICE: APRIL 20TH 2023
The community is invited to attend the Wood County Child Abuse Prevention and Victim Rights Candlelight Vigil being held on Tuesday, April 25th, at Jim Hogg City Park. The program begins at 6 p.m. and will feature area elementary choirs and guest speaker Mark Skalla. Food and booths will be set up for all to enjoy.
PUBLIC NOTICE: As required by federal mandate, Quitman ISD is seeking to notify private non-profit (PNP) schools who have students residing within the Quitman ISD boundaries. Private school officials are invited to consult with Quitman ISD to learn more about the services that may be available through the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Quitman ISD will hold public meetings on Thursday, April 27th at 5 p.m., and on Friday, April 28th at 4p.m. at the Administration building located at 600 N. Winnsboro St. The content and effectiveness of the parent and family engagement policy will be discussed at this meeting. All are encouraged to attend.

First National Bank of East Texas presented Chromebooks to five seniors yesterday. Students were selected based on their hard work in their studies. Thank you to Morgan Whitely and his colleagues from FNB East Texas for the continued support of our students!
If you are looking for a new position or are interested in obtaining alternative certification, please make plans to attend the Region 7 TPCP job fair at Gilmer High School on Saturday, April 15th! QISD will be in attendance to fill positions for the 23-24 school year. Stop by and see us!
Sophomore Daniel Kernes spent his Spring Break scrambling. Kernes, along with 19 other students from across the state, competed in the "Super Scramble" at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo yesterday. Nine calves were released, and Kernes was the first participant to catch one. He was awarded $10,000, which he will receive after his scramble project shows at next year's livestock show.
